Skills

The Skills Profiler Module enables managers to identify the key skills and skill levels required for the effective performance of a subordinate role, to review and agree the skills profile of the current role holder and to identify their skills gaps and priority development needs.

Key information collected and presented in the module:

  • Role Skills Profiling
  • What are the key skills required of a role holder to perform this role effectively?

  • At what level are these skills required – the levels range from full proficiency, to sufficient knowledge to influence or manage practitioners, to a general awareness or appreciation.

  • Person Skills Profiling
  • What skills has the current (or prospective) role holder demonstrated and at what level? This assessment is undertaken from both the role holder’s and the manager’s perspective, with the manager finally signing off the current person skills profile.

  • Skill Gaps
  • What skills should the current (or prospective) role holder further develop to perform the role effectively?

  • What are the role holder’s priority skill development needs for a current or prospective role?

  • Associated Functionality
  • The capacity to develop a skill inventory for the full organisation, department or team.

  • Organization charts, showing the stages of skill profiling for both the role and role holder.

  • Printable skill profiles for each role.

  • Skills Gap Reports for role holders and teams.

  • The potential fully to integrate the module with Talent Planner, to provide a search facility for matching people to jobs in terms of both capability and skills.
